We are a family-run tannery located on the South Dakota prairie, north of Philip.   Prairie Moon Tannery provides quality hair-on tanning for all your tanning needs, from large to small.   Both wet and dry tans are available, meeting the needs of hobby trappers and sportsmen, along with professional taxidermists.

The most important thing controlling quality of hides and their tanning is what happens before   hides reach the tannery.   Hides must be properly prepared and have all the meat and fat removed before they are salted to help assure a quality tan.
